DERA MURAD JAMALI: Commissioner of Nasirabad division Abid Saleem Qureshi said on Friday that all efforts would be made to ensure the supply of irrigation water up to the tail-end area of Jaffarabad district and other areas from Pat Feeder canal. He said all illegal water connection from the canal would be blocked.

He said this during his visit to various areas of Nasirabad division which receives irrigation water from Pat Feeder canal. He was accompanied by Nasirabad Deputy Commissioner Hafiz Qasim Kakar, Jaffarabad Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Khajjak and senior officials of the irrigation department.

The commissioner took serious notice of complaints of farmers of the tail-end area of Pat Feeder canal and said that a strict action would be taken against those who were found involved in getting canal water through illegal connections.

“We want flow of water in all sub canals of the main Pat Feeder canal to provide water up to the agriculture lands located along the tail-end of distributaries of Pat Feeder canal,” he said, adding that basic purpose of his visit was to ensure the justified distribution of canal water among farmers.

Speaking to officials concerned, the Nasirabad commissioner said that divisional and districts administrations were fully cooperating with the agriculture and other departments concerned for ensuring justified distribution of water.
