Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz said that the premier's remarks about avoiding gatherings on Eidul Azha should be declared a state policy, according to APP.
The chairman said that local administrations should be instructed to take action against those violating standard operating procedures for curbing the spread of the virus.
He also urged religious scholars to play their part by ensuring limited gatherings at mosques.
