Pakistan's Covid-19 tally has overtaken Italy's, according to the Johns Hopkins University's Covid-19 resource centre.

According to the data on the site, Pakistan has reported 243,599 cases, making it the eleventh country with the highest numbers of cases. On the other hand, the data shows that Italy has reported 242,363 cases. The data also shows that Italy has reported 34,926 deaths while Pakistan has reported 5,058.

Pakistan is ranked below Iran, which is fighting the Middle East's worst Covid-19 outbreak. It has reported 250,458 cases so far, the tracker shows.
