KARACHI: A teenage shopkeeper was shot dead by suspected robbers over putting up resistance to a robbery attempt in a Manghopir locality on Sunday evening, police said.

Zeeshan Mohammed, 18, was sitting at his shop in Islamia Colony when armed motorcyclists wearing masks came and snatched a cell phone from him, said area SHO Yunus Khattak.

However, the young man put up resistance, upon which the robbers opened fire on him and fled. He suffered a single bullet wound in the chest and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died during treatment.
