LAHORE: Police claim to have arrested three out of the four suspected robbers who allegedly gang-raped a teenaged girl in Gujjarpura area late on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old girl was an assistant at a private homeopathic clinic in Saggian and was going home from work at around 10pm along with her employer, Muhammad Anwar, when the incident occurred.

Four armed men had allegedly taken the girl to nearby fields and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint in the presence of her employer.

A police official claimed that teams, which had been formed shortly after the incident, managed to arrest three of the suspects, who were later identified as friends Saleem, Nadeem and Waqas.

Saleem had previously visited the clinic where he planned to rape the girl after some attempts to impress her failed. He and his accomplices later arranged weapons and as per plan, looted money and assaulted the girl, the official claimed.

He added that their fourth accomplice, Qasim, was still at large and police were trying to arrest him.

A case has already been registered against the culprits on the complaint of Anwar.
