KHYBER: Two persons, including a minor boy, were killed in separate incidents here on Saturday.

Police said a man identified as Abdul Mateen died of head injuries after he fell from an electricity pole in Malakdinkhel area of Bara.

They said that the deceased was fixing a fault when he fell from the pole and severely injured his head. He died in the hospital later.

Separately, a five-year-old boy, Ayan, drowned in a water tank in Bhai Khel locality of Landi Kotal.

Meanwhile, over 4,000 Afghan nationals, most of them being unregistered went back to Afghanistan via the Torkham border and 466 stranded Pakistanis returned on Saturday.

Officials said that 4,717 Afghans, children and women among them, were allowed to go back to their country after they converged at the border crossing from different cities of Pakistan.

Pakistan has arranged for foot crossing from both sides of the border on every Saturday, and has allocated rest of the days for bilateral trade which resumed in early May after remaining closed for about one and a half month due to the coronavirus pandemic.
