I AM a resident of B253, Block 13-D/1, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, with consumer ID: 9898840000(2) who has been receiving inflated gas bills for the last two years. I have complained many times to the SSGC authorities but my complaint remains unresolved.
I bought this house in August 2018 and had it renovated before I took up residence in early 2019. During the renovation period the SSGC billed me Rs1,400 every month which I would pay promptly considering that no one was living there.
When I shifted, I noticed that the SSGC was not conducting monthly meter reading. I also noticed that the gas meter was faulty. I sent SSGC a letter and they changed my meter. However, the excess billing still continued.
I complained again in February 2020 to which SSGC officials told me I would not have to make any payment and the gas utility would adjust more than Rs4,000 against my earlier paid bills. However, when I received the May and June bills again without any meter reading, I had been billed more than Rs10,000.
I ask the SSGC higher authorities to direct their staff to correct my bill as I cannot take leave from my office every month to get my gas bill corrected.
