Sindh has registered 2,139 new cases of the coronavirus, taking its tally to 86,795 — the highest of any province or region in the country.
The province also reported another 29 deaths, with its death toll from the virus so far rising to 1,406, according to the Sindh chief minister's office.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said 28 per cent of the 8,201 tests conducted in the past 24 hours returned positive, a rate he termed "very high".
