KOHAT: Despite passage of four days after the 15-day ultimatum to the lawmakers to meet the core committee of the district coordination council to discuss the provision of category-A facilities to the KDA hospital in Kohat, nobody has contacted it so far.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Asadullah, a member of the council, warned that if the MPs did not meet with the core committee they would block the roads, including the Indus Highway, and stage protests in front of the houses of the federal state minister and the chief minister’s adviser.

He said that the local people had exhausted all options to press for provision of better facilities at the major hospital of Kohat, but to no avail.

He said the council had on Tuesday given a 15-day deadline to the lawmakers to hold talks with the core committee about the provision of category-A facilities to the KDA Teaching Hospital.

The council had been formed at a jirga attended by civil society activists, businessmen, lawyers, minorities’ representatives, NGOs officials, journalists, and political activists.

The council had constituted various committees, and threatened that if their demands were not met the government would be responsible for the consequences.
