GUJAR KHAN: Bodies of three minor children were found in their house in Dera Muslim village on Friday. Preliminary investigation revealed that the children’s father was allegedly responsible for their death.

Talking to Dawn, Station House Officer Jatli Inspector Mirza Arif said: “The suspect, father of five children, had returned for holidays a couple of weeks ago and had estranged relations with his wife who had left for her parents’ house. The suspect’s sister was taking care of their children. On Friday morning, he left for Karachi by train. Hissister contacted him on Friday evening to tell him that his children were missing. He asked her to look for them in the neighbourhood. When she reached him again to tell him that she could not find them, he asked her to look in a trunk in the house’s store room. When she opened the trunk, she found three of his children dead.”

Their bodies were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Gujar Khan for medico legal report and further investigation is underway, he added.

SHO Arif said the suspect had still not reached Karachi and would be arrested soon.
