The medical director of Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar has directed all divisional chiefs to put all medical staff, including consultants and junior doctors, on standby for working on short notice.
According to the notification, the hospital is anticipating a "huge surge" in Covid-19 cases in the coming weeks and will require all hands on deck.
"You need to plan your internal rosters accordingly to deal with [an] emergency situation on short notice," it said.
