Boy drowns in Sukkur canal

SUKKUR: A 10-year-old boy identified as Jameel Abbas, son of Mohammad Sharif Mirani, drowned in Patni Minor (canal) while swimming on Tuesday.

According to reports, the relatives of the boy, resident of village Bando near Kandhra near Rohri-Sukkur, retrieved his body from the canal and took it to the Rural Health Centre Kandhro, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Later the body was taken through an ambulance to his village for funeral and burial.
