MIANWALI: The police claimed to have traced a blind murder within hours, and arrested the culprits besides recovering the body.

In a press conference on Friday, District Police Officer Hassan Asad Alvi said Mehrban Ali had filed a complaint on Thursday with Saddar Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Fayaz Hinjra that his brother, Qurban Ali, was missing for a week.

He constituted an investigation team headed by Saddar Deputy Superintendent of Police Shaukat Ali and SHO Hinjra to trace out the missing person.

He explained that during the search, the police team got a foul smell from a deserted house adjacent to Qurban’s residence. On digging a suspected spot, they found the decomposed body of Qurban.

The team detained Qurban’s wife, Naheed, who confessed within an hour that she had relations with her husband’s younger brother, Zeeshan Ali, and they both killed and buried Qurban in the adjacent haveli.

The police team also arrested Zeeshan, who also confessed to the crime.
