Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masatsugu Asakawa and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President Shinichi Kitaoka reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen collaboration to assist ADB's developing member countries in their response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to a press release issued by ADB, it had announced a $20 billion assistance package on April 13 to address the needs of its members amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.
"JICA is preparing a Covid-19 crisis response emergency support loan program to strengthen countries’ capacity to respond to Covid-19 and revitalise economic activities in those hit hard by the pandemic," the press release reads.
