Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has said that the government's Resource Management System (RMS) "will help optimise resource planning by creating visibility for decision makers at [a] national and provincial level".

In a series of tweets, the PM's aide said: "RMS is a real-time IT platform launched yesterday at NCOC to inform decision makers about availability/utilisation of Covid-19 [high dependency unit/intensive care unit] beds, vents etc in 725 hospitals all across the country.

"Diligent updating [...] and its proper use by provincial authorities is the key to proactively monitor [the] availability of critical equipment required for severe/critical patients and will offload big hospitals in big cities of high patient inflow."

He added: "At the moment this platform is accessible only to decision makers but we have plans to make it available to [the] public also in coming days."
