Adviser to the chief minister on information Ajmal Wazir has said there is no shortage of beds or ventilators for coronavirus patients in major hospitals of the province.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, he gave a breakdown of the number of beds and ventilators reserved for virus patients and their occupancy which is as follows:

  • Lady Reading Hospital: 33 beds and 20 ventilators in use out of 105 beds and 25 ventilators
  • Hayatabad Medical Complex: 90 beds and 17 ventilators in use out of 128 beds and 25 ventilators
  • Khyber Teaching Hospital: 50 beds and two ventilators in use out of 55 beds and 25 ventilators
  • Ayub Teaching Hospital: 28 beds and four ventilators in use out of 81 beds and 20 ventilators
  • Mardan Medical Complex: 33 beds and two ventilators in use out of 100 beds and 20 ventilators

He added, however, that the pandemic was spreading and appealed to people to follow the standard operating procedures issued by the government and take precautionary measures.
