KHAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Anwar Zeb Khan on Friday condemned the mortar attack on two houses in border area of Salarzai tehsil from Afghanistan’s Kunar province and said such attacks would not be tolerated in future.

Talking to families of the victims during his visit to Gardao area, he said the provincial government had approved a package for the families of the deceased and injured of Wednesday’s attack. The MPA also saw the houses hit by mortar shells.

The family members and elders said that one person was martyred and a youth injured while scores of cattle were killed as the mortar shells landed in two houses in area near Pak-Afghan border.

Mr Khan condemned the attack and showed sympathy with the affected families. He said that the chief minister had announced Rs500,000 and Rs250,000 compensation for the dead and wounded, respectively.

It may be mentioned that one Bakhtaullah, 32, was killed and a girl wounded in the attack on Wednesday evening.

KILLED: A man, identified as Abu Bakar, 20, died when roof of a house collapsed in Badan area of Mamond tehsil.

According to officials, people of neighbourhood reached the spot and retrieved the victim’s body from rubble.
