Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that the nation is not taking the coronavirus pandemic "seriously" and they believe that it is some sort of "fabrication".

Addressing the media in Lahore, he said: "It looks like [people] are celebrating after defeating corona. Prime Minister Imran Khan eased the lockdown so that people would not die of hunger but they took it to mean that corona has been defeated."

He added that the nation needed to take the pandemic "seriously" and observe precautionary measures and social distancing. "The biggest danger right now is that our hospitals will not have the capacity [for increased cases] and our doctors will not be able to manage," he said.
