KARACHI, Sept 9: The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation to automate the system of payment of utility bills has signed an agreement with the National Database and Registration Authority.

The signing ceremony held at the KESC Head Office on Thursday was attended by KESC MD Brig Tariq Saddozai, Nadra (Public Service Division) DG Brig Babar Aziz Baig, Nadra Sindh DG Brig Abid Kazmi and other senior officials.

Brig Babar Aziz said that last April the Prime Minister had instructed Nadra to devise a system which should facilitate public in payment of their utility bills (electricity, gas and telephone). “The Nadra has now developed a computerized payment facility, which will facilitate payments 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Initially, the payment facilities would be available to general public from the third week of September in Karachi at 36 dedicated kiosks being prepared by Nadra.—APP
