ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked the people to dedicate Eid to the doctors, nurses and all health workers “who are the real heroes and heroines in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic as they are risking their own lives to save the lives of their fellow citizens.

In a video message on the eve of Eidul Fitr released by the PPP Media Office here on Saturday, the PPP chairman said the nation was celebrating Eid this year at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic had engulfed the entire world.

“We are also saddened by the plane crash yesterday in Karachi,” he said, while recalling the Friday’s tragic PIA plane crash minutes before landing at the Karachi airport.

Mr Bhutto Zardari appealed to the nation to celebrate Eid with sobriety and simplicity.

The PPP chairman said the governments of the Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE and Turkey had bound their citizens to perform Eid prayers at their homes.

He appealed to the Pakistani people to perform Eid prayers at home to protect their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

“The health system will not be over-burdened by doing so,” he added.

While asking people to celebrate Eid at their homes, the PPP chairman, however, said those who wanted to go for Eid prayers must follow the SOPs announced by the governments.
