KASUR: At least 20 passengers, including three women, suffered injuries when a passenger bus smashed into an electricity pole and overturned owing to over-speeding near Theeng Mor.

According to witnesses, the bus was racing with a bigger passenger bus on Deepalpur Road when it hit an electricity pole that broke into half and fell on the road, posing a threat to motorists. A truck travelling behind the bus also hit it from a side.

The injured included Hafiza Bibi, Nasreen Bibi, Naseem Bibi, Alam, Niaz, Babar, Ramzan, Khadim, Awais, Umar Farooq, Muhammad Farooq, Ghulam Ahmed, Shakeel, Ali, Tasawar, Shafiq, Amin and Azam.

The injured were rushed to DHQ hospital by Rescue 1122.
