HYDERABAD, Sept 8: The director of agricultural research, Dr Haji Khan Keerio, has said that the Sindh Seed Corporation has been made functional under directives of the Sindh chief minister to increase agriculture products by utilizing improved seeds of different varieties.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday, he said it had been decided that the Sindh Seed Corporation would be linked with the directorate of agriculture research to ensure marketing of evolved verities of seeds.

Mr Keerio, who has taken over additional charge of post of managing director of the Sindh Seed Corporation, said marketing mechanism would be strengthened and made easy and accessible for common growers.

He said rightsizing of the corporation was also being planned to make it a profitable organization. He said head office of the Sindh Seed Corporation was being shifted from Hyderabad to Sakrand to facilitate farmers.

He said integrated strategy of all organizations would also be ensured to boost up economy of the province. Meanwhile, a progressive farmer, Khalid Mujahid Memon, in his statement welcomed the government decision to revive the Sindh Seed Corporation.
