SHEIKHUPURA: The flagrant violation of SOPs has intensified the spread of coronavirous as six new cases were reported in the district on Wednesday and Thursday.

Of them, two cases were admitted to Muridke Tehsil Headquarters Hospital while the four other patients were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Among the new cases includes a medical officer.

TOBA TEK SINGH: Two new Covid-19 positive cases have been detected in Kamalia.

Assistant Commissioner Nosheen Israr told reporters that among them one man belonged to Kamalia Chak 707-GB who had recently returned from Sharjah. The other case is from Mohalla Amratsarian who returned from Dubai.

SARGODHA: DC Nayar Sheikh says 1,154 people were screened for coronavirus, and, of them, 263 tested positive while 15 cases died from Covid-19 related complications.

He was briefing Provincial Secretary of Regulation Wing Ahmad Ali Kamboh on Thursday. He said 16,000 deserving people had been provided funds worth Rs195m under the Ehsaas programme.

Mr Kamboh said although threats of spreading coronavirus were there after easing the lockdown but the administration was fully alert and he advised the people and traders to observe SOPs or the government would be constrained to withdraw relaxation.

He said that 266 shops had been sealed and criminal cases registered against 156 shopkeepers for violating lockdown rules.

BAHAWALPUR: Eight police officials were discharged from the Government Civil Hospital after they defeated the coronavirus.

SIALKOT: In Daska, the volunteers of an NGO buried a coronavirus victim, a 60-year-old woman, on Thursday.

She was taken to the Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital late on Wednesday for fever treatment where she died. Her test report declared her a coronavirus case after her death.

GUJRAT: The local authorities have opened 107 localities, out of total 116 spots, earlier sealed due to positive cases of Covid-19 in those areas.

DC Khurram Shahzad told a meeting of health and local bodies departments that after recovery of most of the patients of sealed areas and continuous disinfection spray and other sanitation measures there, the administration opened 107 localities.
