Planning Minister Asad Umar has said that the government will seal areas that have been identified as the "hotspots" of the coronavirus.
During a press briefing, the planning minister said that with the help of the data that has been gathered so far, the government will implement a "smart lockdown" to curb the spread of the disease. He repeated that the government could not impose an indefinite lockdown as it would have had a devastating effect on the low-income class. However, that does not mean that all preventive measures will be lifted, he clarified.
