WORLD snooker champion Mohammad Asif has urged the government and the Pakistan Sports Board to grant him a cash award for winning two consecutive world titles.

Asif has said he should be presented cash like the way South Asian Games winners had been awarded by the government. The Pakistan Sports Board says snooker did not come under its ambit, while South Asian Games winners did.

All sports should be treated equally and world champions should be given due recognition.
