Karachi's coronavirus cases have topped 8,000 after it reported 691 new cases.

With 1,080 new cases over the last 24 hours, Sindh has become the first province to report more than 1,000 cases in a day since the pandemic began.

Sindh CM Murad Shah said that some of the cases in Karachi are from people the government randomly tested at grocery stores and vegetable shops. He urged citizens to take responsibility for the safety of their lives.
