KHUZDAR: Former cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi on Friday distributed ration among 1,000 local families who were badly hit by the lockdown triggered by the Covid-19 disease.

Speaking at the ceremony, Afridi said his foundation would continue providing ration to poor families of Khuzdar and other areas of Balochistan.

Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar district Tufail Baloch, District Health Officer Sumar Khan and other officials attended the ceremony. Mr Afridi said that daily-wage workers and poor people had been worst hit by the crisis and problems of the people of Balochistan had been multiplied because the province was backward and its resources were limited.

“I, along with my friends, will continue helping daily-wage workers and people belonging to lower middle class in Balochistan in future also,” Mr Afridi said.

He appealed to the rich people to come forward and help the poor in this unprecedented situation.
