DADU, Sept 4: The inspection team of the Sindh Chief Minister has expressed dissatisfaction over progress of work on development projects in the Dadu town, like drainage, water supply and electricity system.
Three deputy directors of the inspection team namely Javed Ahmed Memon, Nazeer Ahmed Mahar and Wahid Bux Chachar while talking to newsmen at the circuit house here on Saturday, said that the development works of drainage and water supply were in worst condition.
They said that nullahs and drains were not constructed properly so they were not functioning and drainage water was seen overflowing on the roads.
They said streetlights of the town were also not functioning and water supply pipes were broken at different places and people were facing water supply problems. They said that the town municipal administration was directed to improve drainage, water supply and streetlight systems. They said that they had come on the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, and they would submit report to the chief minister.
They said they had visited buildings of schools and roads in the district along with concerned officials and had received records.
DEMO: Employees of the agriculture department here on Saturday held a protest demonstration against non-payment of salaries to them.
They marched on different roads and streets of the town and held protest outside the Dadu Press Club against officials of the National Bank of Pakistan, Dadu branch, for not releasing salaries to 159 employees of the agriculture department, Dadu.
They were led by affected employees Rafiq Ahmed Memon.
Speaking on the occasion, Rafiq Ahmed alleged that the corrupt manager of NBP, Dadu, Ali Raza Jamali, was demanding bribe of Rs1,000 to Rs1,500 from each employee and on refusal, he had stopped salaries to 159 employees for the current month.
