PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Sunday said a major chunk of the development funds would be allocated to the health sector in the next Annual Development Programme to help it cater to the situation arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The chief minister expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding the ADP of the next financial year, according to a statement issued here.

He directed to start practical work to ensure the availability of required resources for the purpose.

The meeting reviewed the matters related to the proposed initial outline of the ADP for the next financial year with special focus on the priority sectors in the light of the prevailing situation.

In view of the Covid-19 outbreak, it was agreed that health, relief, social welfare, construction and maximum employment generating sectors would be the first priorities of the provincial government’s development programme for the next fiscal.

The meeting was informed that the provincial planning department had started receiving concept notes and proposals for the next ADP from various departments, on the basis of which, lists of the proposed projects to be included in the ADP would be compiled by the end of this month, whereas the ADP will be finalised by 20th of next month.
