MARDAN: A young married girl and her alleged paramour were shot dead for honour in Bakri Banda village here on Friday, locals and police said.

The Saddar police station officials’ preliminary investigation said a man shot dead his brother’s wife along with a cousin for having illicit relations to save his family honour.

Police officials said the victim girl was married two years ago, and her husband was abroad.

The suspected killer fled the scene after committing the double murder. The police lodged FIR on the complaint of the girl’s father-in-law against his own son.

The police were making raids to trace the killer.
