THE Sindh Government has done a commendable job in the coronavirus outbreak. It has taken drastic measures through a lockdown to ensure social distancing. Unfortunately the residents of some localities are not obeying the provincial authorities’ orders.

I have seen the inhabitants of the areas adjoining Lyari Expressway namely Baldia, Dhobi Ghat, Lasbela, etc. moving freely. I have also observed youth playing cricket in the open grounds near the Lyari Expressway toll plaza. What is more surprising that no law enforcement personnel are to be seen trying to stop them.

The Sindh government must take appropriate steps to ensure that the people of this locality are stopped as they pose a threat to other citizens in this pandemic.
