LAHORE: The School Education Department will resume distribution of new syllabus books from April 15 and the students would get their summer vacation home work after relaxation in lockdown.

Lahore District Education Authority Chief Executive Officer Parvaiz Akhtar told reporters the department could not complete the distribution of books in public school for the academic year 2020.

He said the students were not assigned summer vacation home work. “Up to 500,000 students of the metropolitan city will receive 2.5 million books,” he said.

However, parents said the children did not receive their books and were also not assigned any summer vacation home work.

They demanded the department take measures and provide summer vacation assignment and books to the students so that they could continue their studies.

Earlier, the university administration revised the voter list for the elections of the teachers from affiliated colleges on the directions of the Lahore High Court. The teachers having at least three years of service were to be included on the voter list of the teachers of affiliated colleges for the senate election voting.

PU Registrar Dr Khalid Khan had issued the notification of the cancellation of the election citing the closure of universities and colleges on the direction of the Higher Education Commission due to coronavirus pandemic.
