HARIPUR: Two persons were killed and another sustained bullet injuries when armed men opened firing on their opponents in Gulu Bandi village near Hattar Industrial Estate here on Sunday.

Police said that cause of the double murder was property dispute.

According to Hattar Industrial Estate police station, there was a dispute between Haq Nawaz and Zahid over the possession of land and the latter’s group forcibly took possession of land a couple of days ago.

On Sunday afternoon, the group of Haq Nawaz came across Abid Sultan, the son of Sakhi Sultan, and his brother Mahmood Sultan, the report accomplices of Zahid group, and after exchange of harsh words fired at them. Ehsan Elahi, a bystander, was also injured in the firing.

The injured were shifted to rural health centre in Kotnajibullah where doctors pronounced Abid Sultan and Ehsan Elahi dead while Mahmood Sultan was referred to Haripur Trauma Centre for treatment.

Police registered case against Haq Nawaz, his sons Akash and Waqas and nephew Ahsan.
