Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the government needs to come up with a national strategy to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, questioning the government's response to the pandemic so far, he said: "A disinfection campaign needs to be started wherever necessary. Arrangments need to be made to conduct tests for this disease.

"There is no government and opposition in this. [The virus] will not see provinces [...] the national assembly should unite and bring forth a national strategy which everyone can own."
