ISLAMABAD: Deputy chairman of the Senate Saleem Mandviwalla has said that the coronavirus is becoming a global challenge and concerted efforts are required to overcome the challenge.
During a meeting with Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Kuninori Matsdua at the Parliament House here on Wednesday, Mr Mandviwalla said a well-coordinated effort was required to tackle the epidemic.
Highlighting the significance of ties between the two countries, he said: “We are committed to our friendship with Japan. Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Japan and desires to further expand the friendly ties in different sectors for the mutual benefit of people of the two sides.”
Meanwhile, Supreme Court Bar Association president Syed Qalbe Hassan asked for setting up of a specialised medical unit at the Pakistan-Iran border (Taftan) for screening of thousands of Pakistani pilgrims returning from Iran.
