KARACHI, Aug 24: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Environment and Alternative Energy Mohammad Noman Saigal has emphasized the need for promoting awareness of environment concerns not only in the masses but businessmen and landlords, who should know the consequences of their activities.

Irrational operations/activities create pollution, damage people’s health, he said.

He also stressed plantation of trees in and outside the industries to reduce pollution.

He called for environment impact assessment before initiating any project including industries, multi-story building and power stations in public and private sectors.

He said his department was bound to take legal action against all those responsible for creating pollution and damaging the environment in the province.—APP
