Man sentenced to death

TAXILA: An additional district and sessions court in Attock on Thursday sentenced a man to death on five counts for murdering five members of a family, including three minors, in Jatial village of Hazro on June 14, 2018.According to the prosecution, Alishia Masih left her husband Halnok Masih, a resident of Toba Tek Singh, and contracted a court marriage with Wasim in Lahore. Later, she shifted to Jatial in Hazro along with Wasim, his first wife and children and started living there.

On June 14, 2018, in the absence of Wasim, Masih entered the house in Jatial and killed Alishia, Wasim’s first wife Naila as well as his three sons - Hassan, 8, Kashan, 6, and Usman, 4.

Meanwhile, a court in Taxila sentenced to death a man for killing his wife over domestic dispute in Usman Khattar area on June 4, 2019.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra concluding the trial against Wajid Mehmood observed that the prosecution had proved the charges of killing his wife Aabida Shaheen against Mehmood. The court also imposed a fine of Rs0.2 million on the convict.
