ISLAMABAD, Aug 23: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) MPs have strongly condemned the incident of firing and chanting of slogans outside the residence of deputy chief (naib amir) Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Senator Prof Ghafoor Ahmed in Karachi.

In a joint press statement issued here, MNAs Liaqat Baloch, Asadullah Bhutto, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Sahibzada Abul Khair, Mohammad Zubair, Farid Ahmed Paracha, Qari Gul Rahman, Abdus Sattar Afghani and Mian Mohammad Aslam said that the MQM’s hooligans riding silencer-less motorcycles kept the house of Prof Ghafoor Ahmed under siege for about an hour and continued firing and chanting slogans outside his house.

The MMA leaders said that the MQM’s intentions of promoting the culture of terrorism and bullying in the country were clear and its entire history was fraught with law-breaking incidents.
