KOHAT: The divisional president of the youth organisation of Pakistan Peoples Party and former nazim, Malik Bilal Hussain, has demanded of the government to announce a compensation package for the family of the slain Hangu girl, and also provide free legal assistance to the aggrieved members.

Talking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, he said that it was not a secluded incident but had affected the whole of the country. He said that the people had become afraid of sending their children to schools and seminaries.

He also demanded exemplary punishment for the criminals so that nobody could think about assaulting a child in future.

Meanwhile, DIG Kohat division Tayyab Hafeez Cheema also visited the site from where the body of the girl was recovered.

The DIG said forensic evidence had been collected from the burial site which would help the investigation team to go ahead with the case.

He said he was himself monitoring the case progress.

He hoped that the real motive behind the murder would be known as soon as the DNA report came.

THREE SHOPS SEALED: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Tuesday sealed three shops for selling expired juices and a bakery for unhygienic conditions.

Authority’s assistant director Mukhtiar Ahmed, and food safety officers, Salman Ahmed and Mohammad Siraj, checked dozens of shops in different bazaars and found large quantity of expired juices and cold drinks at three of them. They sealed them and also imposed fine on the owners.

They also sealed a bakery for not maintaining cleanliness.

OPEN KUTCHERY: Deputy commissioner Abdur Rehman on Tuesday held an electronic open court at his office and listened to the problems of people of Dhodha Sharif. He directed the relevant officials present at his office to resolve the problems at the earliest.

Over 60 tribesmen aired their grievances, mainly concerning electricity loadshedding, choked drains, police inefficiency, shortage of irrigation water, absence of facilities in schools and health centres, dilapidated roads and drug trafficking.
