ISLAMABAD: The director general of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, Qu Dongyu, will pay a three-day official visit to Pakistan from Feb 14, to strengthen collaboration between the FAO and Pakistan.
Mr Dongyu is a Chinese national and took office as the FAO director general in August last year. Born to a rice-growing family, he had served as China’s vice minister of agriculture and rural development.
He will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and hold talks with the minister for national food security and other top officials on future projects and collaboration between the FAO and Pakistan, besides focusing on zero hunger and food security in the context of the global climate change scenario.
