China says US creating, spreading fear after virus outbreak

The United States has taken actions that create and spread fear following a coronavirus outbreak in China, instead of offering any significant assistance, the Chinese foreign ministry said on Monday.
The United States was the first nation to suggest partial withdrawal of its embassy staff, and the first to impose a ban on Chinese travellers, said ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying.
“All it has done could only create and spread fear, which is a bad example,” Hua told an online news briefing, adding that China hoped countries would make judgements and responses that were reasonable, calm and based on science.
The United States began evacuating US citizens from the central Chinese city of Wuhan, where the virus is believed to have first emerged late last year, on January 28.
The World Health Organisation on Jan. 30 declared the accelerating outbreak a global emergency. On the same day, the US State Department raised its travel advisory for China.
“It is precisely developed countries like the United States with strong epidemic prevention capabilities and facilities that have taken the lead in imposing excessive restrictions contrary to WHO recommendations,” Hua said.

There is no doubt that this latest coronavirus from China is very deadly and a global health emergency. However it's also likely that trade and business rival nations will try to take undue advantage of this situation. There is not much one can do, the best policy would be for China to work hard to control the virus and to try to counter damaging propaganda with optimistic and positive responses.

china knew about this epidemic back in December, yet they covered it up and endangered the whole world. Yet they have the gaul to blame the US. I guess totalitarian governments don't deal well with even valid criticism .

One ground fact is poor person cannot afford the hospitalization or medicine unless and until it is subsidized by the local government. Earlier the medication better are chances of getting cured.

By the time anything appears in the news, a lot has happened behind the scenes. USA is aware by sequencing the virus that it has interpolated sections, showing a non-natural variant of the virus. It is correct in imposing travel restrictions as both a public-health measure, and as a putative step on makers of bio-engineered hazards.

China can now establish the friends and foes very easily. At this time, US and India would like to get the trade benefits by spreading rumours. Instead of joining hands with China, many countries are distancing themselves from China by putting travel bans, disrupting flight operations. Sometimes, I feel this is a biological warfare guess who started??

Chinese government hidden this news right from December. Some scientists who disclosed about occurrence of corona virus were jailed in China. Even now China not revealing full details of causalities which will be four times of their numbers.

Owner of one shop selling processed pork in the Wuhan market where the virus broke out noticed early in December that many of his employee were falling sick mysteriously. He informed it to Chinese authorities. The Chinese authorities conducted tests on the sick employees and then found out abut the virus. They closed down the shop but did not disclose about the virus. They covered it up by claiming that the shop has been closed down for renovations. This allowed virus to spread to many countries throughout the world. China disclosed about the virus outbreak and the locked out Wuhan only several weeks later when the virus has already spread out significantly. This is the reason that Chinese are facing hate and abuses in some European countries. In USA, authorities are keeping a close watch to prevent any such hate or abuse.

The problem is that all the publications regarding this deadly virus written by Chinese authors are published by top-notch American journals like the New England Journal of Medicine etc. They are not published in Chinese journals. This shows the superiority of American science and China knows it. So, if America says something about the disease the entire world listen to it and it is not controlled by the US Govt.

China started building corona virus hospitals in mid January because they know they initially acted too slowly - totally underestimating the spread of the virus. That’s alarming, no matter what anybody says!
