PESHAWAR: A man was killed when an explosive device went off in a car in Mirali, North Waziristan tribal district, here on Saturday.

Officials said that the explosion occurred outside a gas-filling station near the degree college. Police said that the explosives were planted in the car. The car caught fire when the explosion occurred, burning to death the driver identified as Dilawar. He belonged to Khajori Madaklhel area.

The officials said that a case was registered and investigations were underway.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
