KARACHI: The February Cup features prominently in a five-race card in which a pair of unknown pedigree horses are set to make their debut in the winter Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The February Cup, a scale order III and IV combined race to be contested over four-and-a-half furlongs, envisaged seven acceptors. It is also the day’s feature event.

Debutant Usman Chandiwala from Karachi is drawn alongside half-a-dozen horses in the second race of the card while Lahore’s Piyara Saeen will make his mark in the fifth and concluding race to be run over four-and-a-half furlongs. It also has seven acceptors.

As many as 34 horses have entered the day’s races and will vie for honours barring last-minute withdrawal(s).

The first race starts at 2:00pm.
