KOHAT: State minister for narcotics control Sheharyar Afridi on Wednesday inaugurated work on a gas supply project to the Jhandi Station and the adjoining areas.

However, the inauguration of gas supply to Sayyab on the Rawalpindi Road was put off due to heavy rain.

The MNA unveiled the plaque at the intersection of the Peshawar and Bannu bypass roads in the presence of a large number of party workers.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that certain mafia had been fooling the people of Kohat during the premiership of Nawaz Sharif and just laid gas pipelines to get votes, but were defeated by the people in the 2018 elections.

Mr Afridi said that he had fulfilled the longstanding promise made to the people. He said that the work on laying of the gas pipelines to Jhandi Station, Kalo Banda, Bangash Abad, Dheri Banda and Hafizabad would start in the first week of next month.

He promised the people that he would bring Prime Minister Imran Khan to Kohat to announce development projects for the district. He said that he would assure supply of gas to each and every house in the district during his tenure as the minister.
