SUKKUR, Aug 20: A total of 536,890 registered voters will exercise their right of franchise in the second phase of the local government elections on August 25, in 51 union councils of four talukas of Nawabshah district, says an official press release issued on Saturday.

There are 137,041 registered voters in 13 union councils of Nawabshah taluka, 146,943 voters in 14 union councils of Daur taluka, 123,119 voters in 12 union councils of Sakrand taluka, and 129,787 voters in 12 union councils of Daulat Pur taluka.

To facilitate the voters, 530 polling stations and 1,944 polling booths have been set up in the district. Strict security measures would be taken at 198 sensitive polling stations.

Training had been imparted to 530 presiding officers, 5,832 assistant presiding officers and 1,944 polling officers to ensure free, fair and impartial elections.
