Published August 21, 2005

SIALKOT, Aug 20: District Returning Officer (DRO) Muhammad Aslam has ordered re-polling in ten rural union councils following the opposition parties alleging rigging by the ruling PML in Aug 18 local polls.

The DRO told journalists that the re-polling would be held in Sialkot tehsil’s two and Pasrur tehsil’s eight rural union councils on Aug 25.

The DRO also directed the Election Commission and law enforcing agencies to ensure the implementation of a foolproof security plan for holding fair and peaceful polling. — Correspondent
