KARACHI, Aug 20: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqi has said that Aug 18 security plan would be repeated on Aug 25 on the occasion of second phase local bodies elections, with steps to be taken to overcome deficiencies as were experienced in the first phase of elections.

Talking to various delegations at his office here on Saturday, the minister complimented the people for their spirit of tolerance and patience which, he observed, made the peaceful conduct of elections possible and no major incident took place here.

He hoped that the people would give demonstration of greater confidence on Aug 25.

Rauf Siddiqi said now when the first phase elections have held transparently, the opposition should accept the results with an open heart to carry forward the mission of a stable democracy and progress.

He paid tributes to Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, DG Rangers, IGP and other police and administration highups for making fool-proof arrangements for the elections.—APP
