MARDAN: A monetary dispute claimed life of one person and caused injuries to another in Sawaldher area here on Saturday.

Rustam police station officials quoted the injured identified as Taj Akbar as saying that a monetary dispute had been going on between the alleged killer and them for last several months.

He said the accused named Sadam opened firing over his father, Fazal-i-Akbar, killing him on the spot, while he himself received multiple wounds. Taj told the police that the firing took place when they exchanged harsh words.

Earlier, the Rescue 1122 officials rushed the injured and body of his father to the district headquarter hospital, Mardan.

The police lodged FIR on the complaint of Taj against the alleged killer.
