KARACHI, Aug 20: Speakers at a ceremony paid rich tributes to Hazrat Ali (RA) for his countless sacrifices, undaunted courage and his services rendered for Islam. The ceremony was organized by the Yaum-i-Ali Committee at the Nishtar Park on Friday night to commemorate the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA).

Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Mohammad Ejazul Haq referred to a number of Quranic verses and Hadith to highlight various aspects of the life of Hazrat Ali (RA).

Mentioning the endless courage of Hazrat Ali (RA), the minister recalled the battles of Badar, Uhad, Khandaq, Bani Qureza, and Hunnain in which Hazrat Ali (RA) fought along with Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) and inflicted defeat upon the enemies. The credit of conquering Khyber is also associated with the “Sher-i-Khuda”.

Talking about the Haj policy, Mr Haq dispelled the impression that the Shiites desirous of performing Haj were subjected to any discrimination.

“I will make sure that all Muslims willing to go for Haj are extended full government cooperation irrespective of their sect or school of thought,” assured the minister.

Al Syed Jaffarul Hakeem from Najaf-i-Ashraf Iraq, Maulana Mukhtar Faizi from Chicago USA, Maulana Asghar Dars, Abdul Khaliq Peerzada and other ulema also spoke.—APP
