KHAR: The authorities on Friday launched a crackdown on drivers of vehicles with tinted glasses in Bajaur tribal district.

Talking to mediapersons here, district police officer Shahab Ali Shah said that the action had been launched after public complaints that most of vehicles having tinted glasses were being used for immoral activities.

The official said that he had formed several teams of police personnel to verify the people’s complaints. However, he didn’t say anything about the outcome.

Mr Shah said that several teams had been tasked to remove tinted papers from glasses of the vehicles. He said that officials had been deployed on different roads of the district for this purpose.

He said that no fine would be imposed on the motorists for using tinted glasses in the current action as it was like a warning.

Meanwhile, police on Friday claimed to have recovered a rocket here in Salarzai tehsil.

DPO Shahab Ali Shah told mediapersons that the rocket ( RPG-07) was recovered in the hilly Sango locality, some 25km from Khar, following credible information about its presence.
